To promote entrepreneurship among the youth of Assam, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, leading the Government of Assam, introduced a new initiative during the cabinet meeting on September 12, 2023. The scheme, named “Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan,” aims to empower young entrepreneurs by providing substantial financial and policy support.

Eligibility Criteria for Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme:

– Age Limit: Age between 28 to 40 years as of April 1, 2023.
– Age Relaxation: 3-year relaxation for OBC, SC, and ST category candidates.
– Educational Qualification: Minimum Class 10 for general category, up to Class 10 for OBC, SC, and ST.
– Professional Skills: Should possess skills or knowledge for income-generating activities (ITI, Diploma, etc.).
– Bank Account: Must have a scheduled commercial bank account opened before December 31, 2023.
– Loan Defaulter: No history of loan default.
– Government Service: Not belonging to a family of government service holders or pensioners.
– Family: Only one member per family eligible.
– Employment Exchange Registration: Must be registered in the Employment Exchange of Assam before April 1, 2023.

How to Apply for Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme:
Interested and eligible youth can apply online for the scheme once the official portal is live. The online portal is expected to start accepting applications from September 23rd. Here are the steps to apply for Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan:
